Everyone at Camphill Village plays a role in contributing to our community and its sustainability. Each day, we finish breakfast at home and head over to the assigned area of the village. We break at noon for a wholesome lunch, followed by an hour of rest, before heading back out to finish our workdays.
At Camphill Village Copake there are various craft studios and field areas where you can spend your days. These include: The Farm Seed Preservation The Weavery The Bakery The Vegetable Gardens The Candle Shop The Bookbindery The Woodshop The Healing Plant Garden The Estate Crew As a volunteer, you are encouraged to seek out your true passions and pursue them. Each member of Camphill works to their own ability, not a predetermined expectation for what is acceptable. Every area of the village fosters a truly inclusive environment. We focus on the process and growth that comes from the hard work each person devotes to a task and the good that comes from learning from one another. When filling out your application, you are able to indicate which areas in which you’d be most interested in spending your time, and most can easily have more than one area during the day. Sustainability and living alongside the environment here are important to us, and many of our studios and field areas are centered around working with the gifts the Earth presents to us on a daily basis. |
